With food aid charities struggling to cope with growing demand from families unable to afford food, The MHM Group will be donating in place of client gifts this year

The MHM Group, a leading supplier of solar powered diesel free site lighting solutions, is encouraging businesses to pledge and has generously donated to Trussell Trust, at a time when the cost-of-living crisis is deepening.

The Trussell Trust recorded an increase in the number of people seeking help between April and September this year, with 320,000 people turning to the charity’s food banks, which is 40% higher than the previous year. *

By donating electronically to Trussell Trust, a charity that supports a nationwide network of food banks for those that need it most, the MHM Group is also supporting their eco initiative and reducing its carbon footprint, rather than sending packages across the UK to clients.

Brad Ireland, Group Sales Director for MHH, said “We are proud to support an amazing charity that relies on the generosity of so many people. The Trussell Trust is doing such great work and supporting many across the country in a time of economic uncertainty. But donating money to charity is not the only way to give back, and everyone at MHM is invested in doing more in the coming year to support our local organisations and charities that rely on good will and the investment of time.

“It’s also been on the top of our agenda to make conscious environmental decisions this year, and so by foregoing Christmas gifts for clients that need transportation and packaging, we hope that donating that money to food banks will save on energy and be an altogether more sustainable choice.
